Luna Rossa Pizzeria
With our achievements we opened Luna Rossa Winery & Pizzeria in Las Cruces in 2011. Thanks to the hard work of Sylvia and Paolo, our pizzeria is now one of the top rated restaurants in the Las Cruces area. Both greatly contributed to this success; Paolo added his expertise in making wines and an essential Italian touch to our dishes, Sylvia her desire to always move forward and bring things to perfection.We are dedicated to making authentic Italian cuisine. From pizzas, calzones and pasta to panini, salads and antipasti, we use the finest Italian ingredients available; San Marzano tomatoes, Trifoglio extra virgin olive oil, prosciutto crudo di San Daniele and prosciutto cotto di Parma. In addition, we import Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana and Montasio cheese. Also, we are very proud to offer green chile grown at our farm in Deming. All our mozzarella is home-made and prepared daily, as well as our pizza dough (using Italian Caputo tipo "00" flour). Our "pizzaioli" hand stretch the dough into a 13" thin pizzas and top them with all these delicious ingredients. Once prepared, the pizzas are then baked in a traditional Italian wood fired brick oven, using exclusively pecan tree wood. This unique baking process allows all those wonderful flavors to come together and create a delightful, extraordinary taste of Italy.
